What is the NOW Function?

The NOW function is used to display the current date and time. This function can be very useful in programming that requires printing, and where a time stamp on that printout would be helpful.NOW-Function The return type for the NOW() function is either in ‘YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS’ format or YYYYMMDDHHMMSS.uuuuuu format, depending on whether the function is used in a string or numeric context. The NOW function is volatile. Any changes in the worksheet or a refresh will trigger the NOW function’s output to update automatically. Time values are a portion of a date value and represented by a decimal number (for example, 12:00 PM is represented as 0.5 because it is half of a day). If you only want to enter today’s date and not the current time, use the TODAY() function instead of the NOW function.
